About United Lutheran
Our Vision
To be a safe and inviting community nurtured in the Body of Christ that shows up alongside the vulnerable and celebrates curiosity as a pathway to God’s holy wisdom, wherever we are.
Our Mission
United Lutheran Church is dedicated to spiritual growth that propels us to humbly respond to our neighbors’ needs, boldly advocate for justice, and embrace expansive inclusivity, as Jesus taught.
All Are Welcome
United is a Reconciling in Christ member of the Oregon Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. United Lutheran Church is recognized by Lutherans Concerned as a Reconciling in Christ congregation—we welcome all God's children to worship with us, regardless of sexual orientation or identity.
What we believe
United is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The mission of the ELCA is:
Marked with the cross of Christ forever, we are claimed, gathered and sent for the sake of the world. As members of the ELCA, we believe that we are freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. With our hands, we do God’s work of restoring and reconciling communities in Jesus’ name throughout the world.” It is truly "God's Work, Our Hands."
Our Story
United was founded in 1926 as part of the United Lutheran Church in America. From its origins, United Lutheran brought together people of faith who wished to have their primary worship in English. United’s commitment to youth, education, community, and social justice make it a standout among Lutheran Congregations. We seek to come together with people of other faiths to see what God has in store for our community.
