Youth Group
Youth Group time is designed for all youth in grades 6th through 12th
We welcome youth of all gender, sexual, and racial identities (to learn more about our commitment to inclusivity, please see our our RIC statement).
We meet our youth where they are in their faith journey and encourage thoughtful discussion and questioning.
Youth group is led by our Program Director Crystal Miller.
Our Youth group is a collaboration between United, Emmaus, and Central Lutheran churches.
We meet monthly either virtually or in person depending on the limitations of the pandemic.
In non-pandemic times we have offered weekly mid-week gatherings and look forward to returning to this when it is safe to do so.
In the summer we come together for a week long service trip. Trips in the past have included traveling to Mexico to build homes, working on the Spokane reservation with Sierra Service Project, and serving with New City Parish in L.A. to name a few.
Tijuana Mission Trip Update
As many of you know our youth group has been traveling to Mexico to help build homes for the last 2 decades. This is a ministry that I have been honored to be able to participate in and I was so sad last summer when we had to cancel our trip due to the Pandemic. We were still able to send funds for a home to be built and this home has recently been completed. Atttached are images of the house and the group that built it, as well as an adorable picture of the little boy who will be able to call this house his home. A message from our partners in ministry in Tijuana, Mexico. “Hello, the little house has been built for a family. It was built for Martha, a single mother, and her baby boy. She is so grateful to have a home for herself and her son. She is very young, only 17, she is incredibly grateful and it brought her tears of joy. Thank you for your blessing, God willing you will all be able to come back soon”
