Continued learning is a core value for a life of faith. At United, we desire to engage scripture, our neighborhood, and our world through continued exploration of what God is doing in our world. We have many options for continued learning on Sundays and throughout the week...
- Adult Forum — Meets Sunday Mornings at 10:50am* following coffee time in our Fellowship Hall. At forums we will rotate between topical scripture discussions, social justice and awareness issues, and community organization presentations. See United's newsletter for what is coming next.
- Theological Discussion Group* --- Meets on most Wednesdays in the Community Room from 6:10 to 7pm for a conversation led by the pastor, intern, or other adult leaders.
- Choir* --- Meets at 7pm on Wednesdays to make a joyful noise unto the Lord. No tryouts are required and new voices are always welcome. Philip Bayles is our music director and has a passion for developing congregational song.
- Women's/Gender Diverse Bible Study — Meets Thursday Mornings at 11:30am* in our Community Room for Bible Study. We often look at the Gospel for next Sunday and on occasion go in depth on a book of the Bible. This is generally led by our Pastor or Intern. On Occasion, we will do a topical study as well.
- Men's/Gender Diverse Bible Study — Meets Friday Mornings at 8:30am* Topics include Bible study, theological study, faith sharing, prayer, and catching up on current events. We often look at the Gospel for next Sunday and on occasion go in depth on a book of the Bible. This is generally led by our Pastor or Intern. On Occasion, we will do a topical study as well.
- Book Group — Meets once a month on Sunday at 12:30pm* In this group we usually read fiction understanding that our faith is always informed by outside sources.
- Mary Magdalene Circle — Meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month* This group meets for mutual support and prayer.
- Social Justice Team — Meets once a month on a mutually determined time* This team looks to combine education, faith, benevolence and current events seeking to practice our faith in concrete ways.
- Theological Book Group — Meets once a month on a mutually determined time* This group goes deep into theology, reading books that challenge previously understood notions of faith, God and community.
